第一档：专业排名前12以内的学校+综合排名前三的学校

申请这些学校，如果是硕士的话，GPA要求达到3.5左右，GRE要求有322以上，TOEFL要求100分以上，98-105分左右为好，而且有相当不错的研究经历和实习经历。

第二档：专业排名前20以内+综合排名前15以内的学校

这些学校的工程学院也很强，全美排名比较高，申请的学生也很多，而且收到很多优秀申请者的信赖。所以对申请者的要求也比较高，所以一般情况下，MS的申请者的GPA在3.2以上，3.5左右为宜（PHD的话，大概在3.5左右为好），GRE大约在320左右，TOEFL在100左右，而且有相当多的研究背景和实习经历的话，被录取的概率相当大一点，而且，想得到奖学金的话，最好去申请这些学校的PHD项目（根据自身的条件），再加上积极的陶瓷的话，成功的几率会很大。
其中，哥大对MS的要求相对低一些，如果申请者的GPA不是很高（80分左右或稍高点），GRE在318以上，TOEFL在90分左右，而且有论文或实践经历的话，可以去尝试一下，有可能会成功。

第三档：专业排名在32以内+综合排名30以内的学校

其中，TAMU的要求稍微高一点，因为，申请者比较多，地理位置也比较好，工程院也很强。

第四档：专业排名前45以内+综合排名50以内的学校
